The available RAM on your computer is an important issue. RAM enables your computer to run multiple applications at one time. If the programs that you are trying to run require more than your available RAM. Your system will run slow. You may need to upgrade the RAM on your system to handle your computing requirements.

What can we expect? - Technology 2012
As we all know, technology is an ever-changing array of gadgets, that, let's face it, not a whole lot of people understand. We learn to adapt to things that are said to make our lives easier, and become proficient in using them. The problem is though, that as soon as we become comfortable with our technology, they decide to make something smaller and faster and thus the sequence resets. So what can we expect in 2012? There are a couple things coming down the pipe, and hopefully this article will somewhat prepare you for them.
With Apple establishing a dominate market presence, it makes sense they would be coming out with a new line of computers and technologies. Apple has come to be known for it's fresh and alternative operating systems, as well as their sleek, chic computer designs, and that's not stopping come 2012. Apple recently introduced a technology in production named Thunderbolt. This technology, co-created with Intel, is an I/O technology that allows high-speed data transfer, as well as resolution support. Apple and Intel have circumvented what should have been years of research and development, and are beginning to roll this technology out with their machines. With data transfer speeds reaching upwards of 20 times the current amount via USB 2.0 (industry standard), Thunderbolt is definitely making its presence known.
Data transfer aside, the Thunderbolt technology has dual channels, allowing it to be used as a display port as well. This exceptionally small opening on the back of the computer will allow users to connect their monitors and/or transfer files at speeds up to 10 GB/s. PC manufactures Acer and Asustek (ASUS), have also teamed up with Apple on the Thunderbolt project. They will begin distributing Windows based machines with the Thunderbolt technology, in early 2012.
The other technology to keep an eye out for, is what will most likely become the industry standard in data transfer, and device connectivity. USB 3.0, manufactured by Intel, will be making its debut in early 2012. The current standard of USB 2.0 has a paltry data transfer rate of 400 MB/s. The new USB 3.0 technology will boast data transfer speeds of 5 GB/s, or 5000 MB/s. This will of course change the standard of devices used, and will increase the performance of computer peripherals exponentially.
